Lesson Nine: Select Source A. Read & make notes.

1. Select Source A. Select one (1) good source from sources 1, 2, & 3. Select the source that seems most relevant to one or more of your reasons. This step helps to ensure that your selected source is useful. From this point onwards, the name of this information is Source A.

2. Make Notes on Source A
. Read Source A carefully & complete the following steps:

STEP ONE: Identify important ideas, points & supporting details. Underline key words, phrases, & sentences.

STEP TWO: Draw lines to connect ideas. This strategy will help you see the structure of the text, thus increasing your understanding of the whole text.

STEP THREE: What do you think about the ideas & issues raised in the text? Add your comments in the margins.

3. Presentation folder: Put your annotated (i.e. marked) copy of Source A into your presentation folder.
